psychometric FEEDBACK- the process

why have your behaviours assessed?

Psychometric testing, using a well-respected and validated personality questionnaire is a great way to assist with gaining personal insight. It's also one of the tools I use in workplace mediation and coaching to assist with self-awareness. I am registered with the British Psychological Society to administer one of the ‘big five' personality tests (NEO-PI-3) and EQ-i 2.0 which assesses emotional intelligence.

The NEOPI3 inventory measures 36 fascinating areas of an individual's personality: anxiety, anger, depression, impulsiveness, vulnerability, warmth, gregariousness, assertiveness, activity levels, excitement seeking, trust, straightforwardness, altruism, compliance, modesty, tender-mindedness, competence, order, dutifulness, ambition, self-discipline, deliberation and openness to fantasy, aesthetics, feelings, actions ideas and values. It allows an individual to understand how their unique personality compares with the UK Professional and Managerial population.

Emotional intelligence levels from the EQ-i 2.0 tool can also be compared to a leadership ability providing insights to assist with a client's leadership and managerial abilities.

What's the process?

The NEOPI3 tool is an online questionnaire and a I email a link to my client. This questionnaire takes about 40 minutes to complete.

The EQ-i 2.0 tool is an online questionnaire as well and it takes about 20 minutes to complete.

The NEO-PI-3 standard report is sent to the client prior to our feedback session.

We then book a time to discuss and interpret the report which could be face-to-face or via Skype/MS Teams/Zoom or telephone.

At this point two further reports are provided looking at the information from different perspectives.

The client keeps a copy of all reports for their future reference.

What are the benefIts?

When clients discuss their reports, they often experience insights from the detailed and comprehensive information they receive. They may find that there are many areas that they are comfortable with. However, there may also be areas where they want to adjust their behaviours in order for example to be more effective in the workplace.

Some clients may decide to focus on getting to know colleagues better, how to initiate small talk, become more organised, develop their leadership style or to seek therapeutic solutions for emotional issues. The tool is also a great way to assist with career choices and get a sense of direction for their future.
